“ Hug the Tea is a great choice for a high-quality matcha experience in Den Haag. While the prices for their drinks and food are on the higher side, this is probably justified by the use of organic, ceremonial-grade Japanese tea and a beautifully curated menu. The atmosphere is relaxing and aesthetic, making it a great place to enjoy a special treat. If you're looking for an authentic and high-end tea experience, the price may be worth it for the quality you receive. ”
“ Iced matcha drinks tasted really good We paid €57~ for 3 drinks and 2 waffles + a healthy bowl. It took some time to receive the waffles but they were delicious. The syrup wasn’t sweet. It was just enough for brunch/lunch. The waitresses were friendly. The atmosphere is nice, it’s not crowded so many seats are available. However, the seats are not comfy if you’re planning to stay for a while. Also I added a request while making my reservation online: for a candle onto one of our desserts due to a bday celebration. They didn’t. I made sure to leave my number and email and asked if it wasn’t possible they would lmk (which they didn’t do). The girl at the register didn’t check my reservation and told me to sit wherever since there were many spots available. ”
“ Their matcha was delicious, great flavor. We also enjoyed their strawberry daifuku, not too sweet! ”
“ Came a long way for this so I slightly expect a little higher so I’d like to ensure the owner and other visitors that this is just my personal opinion and people’s opinions mary vary according to their taste. 1/ Service: 10/10 so attentive staff. so cute, very friendly and always check in on customers note to owner: allow employees to prioritize payment FIRST before serving because the place can get very crowded on the weekend leading to difficulty for employees to observe every area 2/ Atmosphere: SO AMAZING!! Good for dates or relaxing also. Definitely aesthetic, beautiful and nicely decorated. Japanese vibe. So so chill 10/10 2/ Food & drink: Honestly, as an Asian, this is not entirely my taste. Doesn’t mean the drinks are bad but it’s like any other average European-matcha cafes: so something very nicely decorated but the drinks are rather ‘grassy’. No offense here at all, just personal taste. I still haven’t found ‘THE’ place in the Netherlands yet for matcha. Will be on a look then Cheesecake was a little bit too sour instead of sweet. Overall great staff, great place but average food & drinks. Will definitely visit if they adjust their recipes or so! ”
“ My favorite matcha place in the Netherlands! I come here all the time and it’s good every time. The food is also really good. ”
“ Stylish place with Japanese feel to it to get some really good teas in the middle of the buzz of The Hague city center. ”
“ Went to this cafe twice, love it, near by and nice to meet with a friend! Matcha with coconut milk was good , and I ate some avocado toast (1st one on menu) it was good as quick snack/brunch. My friend ordered cheesecake. I think it was matcha cheesecake , I liked it ! Not too sweet :) Love to come back sometimes :) Friendly service as well :) ”
“ We opted for high tea for 4. 2 adults and 2 kids (7 & 12). The portions were big (macarons not in picture). The avocado toast was very yummy with the teriyaki sauce and garnishes; very flavourful. The tartlets and the matcha cherry crumble are my personal favourites for the sweets. The high tea also came with 2 drinks. It was very nice to try out different kind of tea variety. Staff was friendly and accommodating. It was a lovely experience to celebrate my birthday there since I love matcha. (I did not inform the staff that it was my birthday). ”
